Release of Liability:

I hereby release, discharge, covenant not to sue, and agree to indemnify and save and hold harmless each of the releasee's from all liability claims, demands, losses, or damages on the minor's account caused or alleged to be caused, in whole or in part by the negligence of the "releasees" or otherwise, including negligent rescue operations. I further agree that if, despite this release, I, the minor, or anyone on the minor's behalf makes a claim against any of the releasees named above, I will indemnify, save, and hold harmless each of the releasees from any litigation expenses, attorney fees, loss liability, damage, or any cost that may occur as the result of any such claim.


Medical Emergencies:

In any event of an accident or emergency I hereby authorize my child to be transported to a hospital for medical treatment and I hold Above The Barre Dance Academy and it's representatives harmless in the execution of such. Additionally, I hereby agree to individually provide for all medical expenses which may be incurred by me or my child(ren) as a result of any injury sustained while participating at or for Above The Barre Dance Academy.


Studio Policies:

Please review and agree to our studio policies:

  1. Parking lot- DO NOT EVER LET YOUR CHILD PLAY IN THE PARKING LOT. We often see parents chatting in the lobby after class while their child walks out the door without them. We also see parents chatting outside the studio while their child plays between cars or in the neighboring business parking. This is absolutely against studio policy. Children are not to be left outside without supervision or leave the building without an adult.
  2. Where to park- We have designated parking spots; All other parking belongs to neighboring business and is not available for use. Please park in the designated parking spots.
  3. Send your student(s) to the studio prepared for class- Have the student(s) dressed in the necessary equipment
  4. Viewing window- The viewing window or TV screen gives you an opportunity to watch class every so often and see the student's progress. Please feel free to watch class. If you notice students paying more attention to you than the instructor, please move away from the window. You might be a distraction to other students in the class, or possibly the teacher. Do not allow siblings to stand in lobby chairs while watching through the viewing window. Please make sure siblings are not distracting class.
  5. The lobby- Families are always welcome in the lobby but please keep in mind that lobby space is limited and it gets really hot in the waiting area. If you utilize the lobby, please throw trash away and straighten toys before leaving. Please replace chairs if you move them.
  6. Before and after class- Most classes start as a class ends. Please gather your child and be prepared to leave the building after class is over. Please be courteous to the class that comes after your class is over.
  7. Communication- The best way to communicate with teachers is by emailing through email or calling the studio. Phone messages may not be returned the same day. Teachers cannot accept calls during class time.

Studio Policies:

Please review and agree to our studio policies:

  1. Tuition is due by the 1st of every month.  We offer ACH withdrawl at no charge to you.  You may also bring cash or check into the studio at no charge.  You're welcome to pay by credit card or PayPal online, but you are agreeing to be charged an additional $7 per transaction to use another form of payment.   An automatic late fee of $10.00 will be added on the 5th of each month.  Your account will be subject to a $35.00 return check fee if returned by your bank.  Tuition is not prorated on months where there is holidays or breaks.  We factor these in when pricing for the year.  If for any reason you can not make it to a class, you may make it up in another class of the same description.
  2. If you choose to stop attending Above the Barre Dance Academy in the middle of any scheduled session, we do require at least a 30 day WRITTEN notice either emailed or mailed in.
  3. Tardiness: Please try to be on time to class.  Entering after class begins is a disturbance to the rest of the class and may interrupt the productivity of the class.
  4. Weather cancellations will be posted on our facebook page and emailed out to our distribution lists.  You are allowed to make up this class at any other class within 2 weeks of the cancellations in any other class of the same discription.  We will offer additional make up options if we miss more than 2 classes due to weather.
  5. Behavior: Each student is to abide by the studio rules at all times, in addition to the rules of their individual teacher and classroom.  This includes keeping hands to yourself, keeping hands and feet off of the walls, mirrors, and barres unless otherwise directed by the teacher, and giving all parties of Above the Barre the necessary respect.  Any child who is a constant interruption of these rules may be asked to leave the classroom.  We do ask that the parent remains at the studio with their dancer if they are under the age of 8 OR that there is an adult in charge of them at all times (ie, you could link up with 4-5 other parents and trade off weeks etc).  This ensures that each child is appropriately cared for in case of emergency, need to use the restroom, etc.
  6. Class Attire:  Each child should have the appropriate shoes for the class.  On our website there is a link called "registration needs" in which it states everything your dancer will need for class.   All shoes may be purchased through Body and Sole Dance Supply located at 2660 E. 53rd Street #10 in Davenport.  We do advise that you place your name in ALL shoes so that they are easily returned in the event you leave them at the studio.  Also, please remember that these shoes should ONLY be worn in the dance room!  Please don't allow your dancer to wear these shoes outside especially!
  7. NO GUM, FOOD, OR DRINKS ALLOWED IN DANCE ROOMS!  If you do have them in the waiting room we will ask that you clean up after yourself.
  8. We will be offering a mid season show this year!  More details will be announced soon, but it will be the weekend before Thanksgiving and will be optional for all students at ATB.
  9. Recital dates and location will be announced to you as soon as they are decided upon.  Your student will be involved in a recital which will require a costume.  There will be an apparel deposit due with November's tuition and the remainder of the costume will be due with December tuition.  For all Stage 5 -8 combo classes the total amount will be $130.  For all other classes the total amount will be $90.  If your dancer is enrolled in multiple classes please see the office for information on a discount!
  10. Any snacks brought to be shared with your dancers class should be easily packaged to take home with the students.  Please keep in mind allergies within the class and keeping the area neat and tidy!
  11. Communication: all important communication will come via email.  Please be sure you're checking the email address you provided for important updates and monthly information.
  12. Parents are asked to pick up their children INSIDE the studio and be as on time as possible.  We are not responsible for children when not in class, INCLUDING siblings.
